We are so excited to see you on Monday for our Cavs Academy Camp in Akron. Please see below for more details:

TIME: Monday 6/23-Thursday 6/26, 9:00 AM-12:00 PM (check-in begins at 8:30 AM on Monday).

Please do not arrive prior to 8:30 AM for daily check-in and do not arrive later than 12 PM daily for pickup. Due to our rental agreements with the facility, we cannot be earlier or later than our 9am-12pm time slot each day.

LOCATION: Shaw JCC of Akron (750 White Pond Dr Akron, OH 44320)

Please enter here: Upon entering the drive from White Pond Dr., please take an immediate right and park in the front parking lot. You will see a set of glass doors and flag poles – this is our campus’ main entrance. Please ring the doorbell and let the front desk attendant know that you are here for Cavs Basketball Camp! We will have a roster with your athlete’s name on it, that we will check off. All guests (parents/guardians) will be required to sign in at the front desk as well. If any guests plan to stay for the entirety of the basketball camp (M-Th 9:00am-12:00pm), we do have bleachers located up the staircase by the gym entrance. Our lobby has ample seating, restrooms and there are also water stations located nearby for your use.

WHAT SHOULD WE BRING?: Water bottle labeled with child’s name, and if you have one, we highly encourage bringing your own basketball. Athletes should wear sneakers/basketball shoes and will receive a Cavs Academy jersey and short at registration to wear during the whole camp. If you ordered the wrong sizes, we will try our best to accommodate a new size, but please keep in mind we may not be able to do so. We will NOT be able to switch out an athlete’s jersey/shorts after the first day at camp.

PARENTS: Your child must check-in daily with their coach. To ensure the safety of our athletes, you MUST pick up your child inside the building each day and check-out with their coach. You must present a photo ID at checkout. If car-pooling or another person will be picking up your child, please let your child's coach know at check-in that day. If your child will be walking to and from camp, you must provide a handwritten note at check-in OR a typed email and sent to youthhoops@cavs.com prior to the start of camp.

If you plan to stay and watch your child at camp, we would love to have you! However, please do not interfere with your child and the coaches in the middle of the camp. If we have to ask you to stop interfering with our coaching staff or your child at camp, we will kindly ask you and your child to leave the camp. This is a non-negotiable and falls in our parent code of conduct.

TICKETS: Each athlete will receive two complimentary tickets to a home 25-26 Cavaliers game. You will receive an email in the fall on how to claim those tickets.

WHAT TO EXPECT DAY 1 OF CAMP:

1. Check in no earlier than 8:30AM- please be present with your child to check them in and meet their coach

2. Meet your coaches and Cavs staff- please click the attachment below to see your coaches!

b. Shooting Drills

c. Layups

d. Ball handling

4. Arrive promptly at 12pm to checkout your athlete. You will need to come in the gym to check them out and have a photo ID present. If your child is carpooling or walking, please refer to notes above.
